If you are keen to be a part of the computing and internet world, there are a few things that you need to keep in mind. Before you embark on this journey, you need to ask yourself whether this is the journey you want to take in your life, with respect to a career in this field.

Information technology is the hot and happening area over the last few decades and deals with the storage, transmission and management of information. For working in this area, you need to have a good understanding of how computers ( the basic nodes of information technology) work and function. As someone in the IT field, your future job will entail upon you various responsibilities including development, customisation and maintenance of IT related functions in your company. Currently, the opportunities in this sector is widespread from hardware sector to software sector and the industry formed by the internet and mobile technologies. The popularity of digital devices and digital marketing has revolutionised it.

If you are interested in pursuing any of these areas, and you think you possess the skils and talents for it, then you can do some or all of the following courses as part of your education. These courses include courses on network management, web design and development, database management, programming, security, social media, big data analysis etc. But you need to have at the minimum good understanding and skills with programming, knowledge of different coding languages, intuitive and analytical skills to be able to design programs. Foundation programs in this will help you determine whether this is the career you want to pursue. Be aware that careers in the IT may come with long working hours but it can be extremely exciting and challenging.
